Our Mission
Joyous Acres is a small, family run rescue farm dedicated to the loving care of animals in need. From horses to cats, dogs and a popular pig, our goal is to give the best care possible to animals entrusted to us, helping them live healthy, happy, and meaningful lives. Our operation may be small compared to many rescues, and some of us have physical disabilities ourselves. But our family personally attends to every aspect of care from feeding to grooming to muck raking and more. It is a place full of heart, driven by the belief that with love, all is possible.
Family Founded
The family has found that caring for the rescues has provided many therapeutic benefits for them as well, even helping the elders regain strength, mobility and youthfulness. It’s part of the reason why the family has now taken the step of sharing the healing power of rescues with the broader community.

Onaqui’s Story
One case in particular that often elicits a tear is Onaqui the Mustang, who was seized by authorities in a starvation case where many of his pasture mates had died.
